Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to lead our Wire Transfer team, overseeing the accurate and compliant processing of domestic and international fund transfers. This role combines hands-on processing responsibilities with supervisory duties, including training, performance management, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and well-versed in fraud monitoring and banking compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily wire transfer operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing transactions.

  • Provide direct supervision to wire processing staff, including hiring input, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to resolve wire-related inquiries and ensure timely, high-quality service.

  • Monitor and verify high-dollar transactions for accuracy, compliance, and fraud indicators, ensuring proper documentation and authentication protocols are followed.

  • Perform quality checks and exception handling for wire activity using the bank’s automated wire platform.

  • Conduct security procedures such as callbacks, validations, and OFAC screenings.

  • Reconcile daily wire activity against the Federal Reserve and general ledger accounts.

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines including OFAC, BSA/AML, and internal compliance policies.

  • Assist in developing team knowledge on wire systems and processes through cross-training and support.

  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend procedural or system enhancements to optimize department workflows.

  • Support various projects, audits, and reporting functions within the department as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a wire transfer environment within commercial banking.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an operations or payment processing role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and banking software platforms.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a commitment to outstanding customer service.

  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements related to electronic payments and fund transfers.
