Position Overview
Our electronic component service client is seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking individual to join our team as a Warehouse Testing Technician in Lake Forest. This role blends warehouse operations with technical expertise, focusing on managing inventory and shipping/receiving tasks while testing and qualifying computer hardware components. The ideal candidate should excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate technical problem-solving skills, and have a proactive approach to ensuring quality.
$22 - $26/hr
8am to 4pm, Mon - Fri + Sat OT
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical Testing Duties:
- Test and qualify computer hardware, including HDDs, SSDs, and memory modules.
- Troubleshoot and restore functionality of defective components or systems.
- Set up, install, and configure hardware and software.
- Safely and effectively wipe and reinstall operating systems.
- Handle legacy equipment such as SCSI and IDE drives.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Perform receiving and shipping tasks, including inspecting, labeling, and packing products.
- Verify and document inbound and outbound shipments accurately.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and adherence to company standards.
- Conduct inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and physical inspections.
- General Responsibilities:
- Ensure all tasks meet company quality and efficiency standards.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management. Experience & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in computer hardware testing or a related field.
- Knowledge of computer systems, IT components, and legacy hardware (e.g., IDE, SCSI).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are a plus.
- Warehouse Skills:
- Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving (1-2 years preferred).
- Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with domestic shipping procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a collaborative mindset.
