Wafer Fabrication Technician
Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for working in a wafer fabrication cleanroom processing semiconductor wafers using equipment and processes used in wafer fabrication. Process may include photolithography, thin film coatings, wet and/or dry etch, annealing, grinding, and/or dicing. Responsible for following manufacturing process instructions and for using safe practices including use of PPE when required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process wafers as instructed using wafer fabrication processes.
- Organize workflow.
- Maintain current wafer fabrication processes.
- Troubleshoot and correct process issues.
- Perform basic data analysis and record data as requested.
- Work with wet benches and chemicals used in etching processes.
- Work in collaboration with process sustaining engineers.
- Summarize and communicate findings accurately to engineering team and management as needed.
- Operate photo resist coaters, mask aligners, metal evaporators, PECVD, wet etch, grinders, dicing saws, or other equipment and processes in wafer fabrication.
- Process wafers according to detailed wafer traveler documentation.
- Communicate any issues with equipment to equipment maintenance; perform basic preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
- Suggest and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Follow safety procedures and always use PPE when required.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Good conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written; possesses the ability to interface effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
- Good computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AS in technical field, engineering, or science.
- 3 years of experience working in semiconductor manufacturing environment with direct, hands-on experience in wafer fabrication.
- Hands-on experienced and skilled with equipment used in wafer fabrication; photolithography, metal evaporators, PECVD, grinding, dicing, etc.
- Experienced with basic electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting of equipment.
- Good with data analysis.
High School diploma.
