Location: Newport Beach, CA (100% onsite for first 90 days - Remote 2 days per week after)
Employment Type: Temp, Temp to Hire
Salary: $38.50 - $48/ hour (non-exempt)

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, daily accounting, general ledger, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Management:
    • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Handle payroll tax reporting and payments.
    • Maintain payroll records and handle employee payroll inquiries.
  • General Ledger Accounting:
    • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Daily Accounting Operations:
    • Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
    • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and prepare variance analyses.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Great Plains General Ledger Experience:
    • Utilize Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) for all general ledger functions.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the Great Plains system.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing and processing payroll
  • Prior experience working in a medical practice environment with 50+ employees is highly desired
  • Proficiency in Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
