Medical Device Company is seeking an experienced HR Generalist

100% Onsite
Location: Somersworth, New Hampshire

Direct Hire

Pay: 70K-80K/hr

The Sr. HR Generalist will manage the day-to-day, full-cycle human resource support and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, employee relations, compensation, training, and state and federal labor laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide consultation and support to Executives, Supervisors, and Managers regarding the correct application of company policy, performance management, discipline, and coaching. Work with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Protect the interests of both employees and the company in accordance with policies, governmental laws, and regulations.
  • Ensure proactive management of all federal, state, local laws, and HR-related compliance matters, including but not limited to ADA, EEO, and FMLA programs.
  • Serve as a key member of the Safety Committee and collaborate with the Safety Manager to report, maintain, and monitor all workers' compensation case files; follow up on open cases.
  • Interview candidates with hiring managers to provide input and guidance in the talent selection process.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and conduct new hire onboarding.
  • Assist with payroll by reviewing timesheets and editing punches for Full-Time employees and temp agency timesheet submissions.
  • Conduct internal investigations into employee complaints and work closely with HR Director for resolution.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence, including personal, medical, and FMLA/CFRA.
  • Assist with the development and recommendation of HR policies and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare termination documentation and conduct exit interviews.
  • Update the HRIS system with payroll status change forms.
  • Process unemployment claims and wage orders accordingly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of HR paperwork (e.g., status changes, merit increases, transfer forms, and termination forms).
  • Assist employees with questions and interpretation regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Act as an employee advocate for all employment matters.
  • Maintain confidential personnel folders.
  • Manage training programs and ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Maintain HR knowledge of state and federal laws by attending webinars, seminars, and conferences.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel issues and information.
  • Gather and analyze HR data and prepare HR reports as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in human resources or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of human resources experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of human resources experience (Preferred).

Certifications
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification (Preferred).

Technical Skills
  • Proven experience utilizing an HRIS/Timekeeping system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Experience
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, with a strong ability to mediate, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive employee relations across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce company policies and procedures effectively and consistently at all levels of management.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proven ability to anticipate and strategically plan for changing business needs.
  • Knowledge and application of labor law compliance at the state and federal levels, including ADA, EEO, FMLA, CFRA, LOA, COBRA, etc.

Analytical Skills
  • Proactively recognize risks and utilize appropriate resources to achieve results, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
