Shipping Clerk
Job Description
About this role:
The purpose of this position is to fulfill the need for a full time Shipping Clerk. This position will provide shipping/ distribution functions.
Pay:
$18/hr
Schedule:
1st Shift - 7am - 2:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Communicates discrepancies between physical product and paperwork as needed.
- Verifies the accuracy of the data and initiates corrections when needed.
- Coordinates special shipping and handling request with the shipping department and other employees
- Affixes shipping labels, identifying information, and shipping instructions onto packed cartons or containers, as required.
- Recommends method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates, when appropriate.
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Ensures completion of daily shipping reports, asset entry in SFDC.
- Verifies accuracy of shipping notices, bill of lading, invoices, order and other records. Initiates corrections when needed.
- Prepares bills of lading and maintains documentation of goods shipped.
- Informs Manager of any foreseen material shortages.
- Communicates inventory of shipping and material and supplies.
- Performs all warehouse activity monitoring any discrepancies.
- Performs daily cycle count program, and reconciling variances.
- Prepares all domestic and international shipments
- Promoting the adherence to quality standards
Additional Duties
- Participates actively in continuous quality improvement
- Demonstrates professional responsibilities by cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and department goals and objectives.
- Maintains compliance with principles of accepted employee conduct as identified in the employee handbook and as specified in departmental policies and procedures.
- Any other assignment assigned by manager
- Participate in year end inventory
- Complete assignments in Lean Center and/or Brain shark
- Provide assistance to other employees as required.
- Become fluent with software QAD, Sales Force, Splunk, Endicia and FedEx Manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a high school education or equivalent.
- 2 to 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a ISO registered facility strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of some or all software such as; Microsoft Office, QAD, Sales Force, Splunk, Endicia and FedEx Manager (nice to have)
- Experience working in a Medical Device company, or a regulated industry,
- Knowledge of the Quality System Regulations and applicable state and federal requirements (nice to have)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, supporting the objectives and goals of the organization.
- Good time management skills.
- Flexibility in work assignments.
- Knowledgeable of FDA and ISO requirements, preferred
