Schedule: 7:30AM - 8AM start time [ Monday to Friday 8 Hours ]
Location: San Dimas/La Verne, CA
Work Model: Currently Hybrid, but will need to be flexible to work 100% onsite should expectations change
Job Type: Full Time, Direct Hire
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Leads a design team to perform or manage multiple potable water supply, treatment, storage and distribution design projects.
- Prepares design plans and specifications
- Plans, directs, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of all assigned staff; including preparing performance evaluations and career development profiles for all direct reports, as necessary
- Coordinates internal and external resources, including consultants, concerning project deadlines while working closely with asset management, internal stake holders, operations, customer support, and water quality staff
- Prioritizes assigned design projects within area of responsibility. Monitors and reports on design project schedules and budgets, and implements corrective actions when needed
- Ensures design team meets design schedules and budgets for all assigned water supply and distribution design projects
- Performs QA/QC of design projects by design team and consultants
- Reviews and opines on submittals and field changes during construction phase
- Represents company in public settings with respect to projects
- Performs engineering design services associated with the development of Capital Improvement Programs and related design documents such as:
- Preliminary design reports
- Project cost estimates and cost/benefit analysis
- Value engineering reviews, and various evaluation
- Reports concerning system hydraulics, water supply, distribution, storage, treatment and water quality projects
- Performs engineering design services and/or supervision of design services associated with new business projects
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college required
- Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in the State of California required.
- 6 years in water infrastructure design.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative team environment is required to meet company goals and objectives
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
