Job Description
Position Summary:
Performs diversified inspection work using engineering drawings, process specifications, material certificates, test reports, and customer documents to check or verify purchased parts. Responsible for creating first article inspections (FAI) using AS9102 forms for detailed parts manufactured by ARA, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and final deliverable units. Able to perform complex parts inspections using CMM equipment and standard inspection gauges. Must be proficient in interpreting drawings.
Creates Non-conforming Reports (NCR) to document nonconforming items and performs daily scanning of quality certificates or documents into the EPICOR system. Will train and become an FAA ODA unit member.
Essential Functions:
- Performs general inspection work in the following areas:
- Receiving inspection
- Creating First Article Inspections (FAI) using AS9102 forms
- In-process, final, and shipping inspections
- Takes direction from the inspection lead for work assignments and receives guidance on technical matters.
- Familiar with ARA inspection procedures and related work instructions; recommends improvements where applicable.
- Measures parts to verify accuracy of dimensions using standard and special CMM measuring equipment.
- Tests units for specification conformance using appropriate measuring and test equipment.
- Stamps or approves acceptable parts and prepares necessary paperwork to document results.
- Creates NCRs, clearly describing the condition of unacceptable parts and determining responsibility for errors.
- Works from engineering drawings, process specifications, customer drawings, and test procedures.
- Maintains all required inspection records in accordance with procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques
Education and Experience:
- Two years of experience performing inspection functions (e.g., machinist or technician)
- High school diploma or equivalent
