We are currently seeking compassionate and friendly Patient Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff both in person and over the phone. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Answer phone calls and assist callers with scheduling appointments, inquiries, and general information.
- Register patients by accurately collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
- Collect co-payments and payments for services rendered.
- Maintain patient records and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Dental Assisting Certificate is required.
- Previous experience in a customer service or healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
