Patient Service Representative, Bilingual Spanish
Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Patient Services Representative (PSR) provides high-quality, service-oriented care while supporting daily front office operations. This role is responsible for patient check-in, scheduling, eligibility verification, medical records processing, and general administrative support—all while upholding the health center’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients, verify appointments, and assist with paperwork

Answer phones, address patient inquiries, and make appropriate referrals

Confirm insurance eligibility, explain coverage, and collect co-pays and balances

Schedule appointments and place reminder calls

Enter and update patient info in the EHR

Ensure proper completion of registration, consent, and sliding fee forms

Reconcile daily payments and secure funds appropriately

Process and file electronic faxes and documents

Manage medical records requests per HIPAA guidelines
- Support care team with records retrieval and communication
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety and compliance standards

Support clinic staff as needed and assist in a fast-paced team environment
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Bilingual English/Spanish
-
Strong customer service and communication skills

Proficient with computers and office equipment
Preferred (not required)

1+ year front office experience in medical, dental, or clinical setting

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office and clinic setting with extended computer use
- Reliable transportation to travel between clinic sites
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PM
(Must be flexible to work Saturdays as needed with one day off during the week)
