Medical Payment Poster
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Payment Poster to join our team and contribute to our financial operations.
Job Summary:
The Payment Poster will manage the accurate and timely posting of payments from Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs), patient payments, and virtual credit cards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), including reading and interpreting remark codes, and will play a key role in balancing accounts and supporting month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Post ERA payments, patient payments, and virtual credit card transactions to the appropriate accounts.
• Review and interpret EOBs, including understanding and applying remark codes.
• Reconcile and settle balances to ensure accounts are accurate and current.
• Assist in month-end closing processes by ensuring payment batches are balanced and accounts are finalized.
• Collaborate with the billing and revenue cycle teams to resolve discrepancies or issues.
• Participate in 4-5 months of in-office training (dependent on experience and adaptability) before transitioning to a hybrid role
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of experience in payment posting or a related role.
• Proficiency in reading EOBs and interpreting remark codes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Familiarity with revenue cycle processes and month-end reconciliation.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes during training.
