Medical Front Office Receptionist
Job Description
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets patients in a courteous manner, maintain the registration process and obtain accurate patient data including demographic, billing and insurance information.
- Answers telephone calls in a professional manner, assists callers and/or routes the calls appropriately.
- Explains financial requirements to the patient or responsible parties, collect payments accordingly.
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patient and clinical staff.
- Ensures work space, reception and patient waiting areas are neat and organized at all times.
- Attends company and departmental staff meetings.
- Meets all Productivity Standards/Goals
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Patient empathy and compassion.
- Willingness to work as a team player to meet the common goals of the organization.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office -Outlook and Word.
- Must have minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare or hospitality industry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, families, staff and others in a professional manner.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Must have high level of discretion and judgment.
- Adheres to HIPAA, privacy, confidentiality and safety guidelines per office polices and protocol.
