Facilities Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable operation of building infrastructure, utilities, and environmental control systems. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient environment, with a focus on supporting cleanroom standards, safety protocols, and company procedures. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring uninterrupted facility operations.
- Schedule: Monday thru Friday 11:00 am to 7:30pm, must be flexible to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed.
- Compensation: $45/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive and urgent corrective maintenance on critical facility systems, including HVAC, air handling units, HEPA filters, chilled water systems, compressed air, vacuum, and process gas systems.
- Support cleanroom environmental controls by monitoring and regulating pressure differentials, temperature, humidity, and particle counts to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, logs, and documentation in accordance with ISO, GMP, and company policies to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Follow strict contamination control procedures in cleanroom environments, including proper gowning, sanitization, and cleaning protocols.
- Respond swiftly to facility alarms, environmental excursions, and emergencies, implementing corrective measures to restore systems to optimal conditions.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support cleanroom operations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist with equipment installation, calibration, and qualification activities as needed, supporting validation efforts.
- Ensure all activities comply with OSHA safety standards and uphold the company’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facilities Technician or in a similar maintenance role, preferably within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, filtration systems, building utilities, and maintaining complex facility systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical controls and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 14644 cleanroom classifications and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations is required.
- Skilled in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and detailed maintenance protocols.
- Proficient with hand tools, troubleshooting instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and preventive maintenance programs is advantageous.
- OSHA safety training certifications such as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and PPE usage are preferred.
