Job Description
Position Overview: As a Medical Assistant (MA) at our Pediatric Dermatology Office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You will assist healthcare professionals in providing excellent care to pediatric patients, specifically in the field of dermatology.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination by the dermatologist.
- Assist in procedures such as biopsies, minor surgeries, and other dermatological treatments.
- Perform basic medical tasks under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers.

Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Handle phone inquiries, including appointment scheduling, prescription refills, and patient questions.
- Verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork.

Clinical Support:
- Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment for treatments and procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
- Assist with patient education by providing information on dermatological conditions and treatments.

Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with dermatologists, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Work collaboratively to provide high-quality care and ensure patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting, particularly in dermatology or pediatrics, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and their parents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with typical office hours.
- Potential for occasional evening or weekend shifts based on clinic needs.
