Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing direct patient care within a primary care setting, following standing orders and clinical protocols.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and supply management.
- Take patient histories, measure vital signs, and document findings accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with clinical procedures as needed.
- Coordinate patient schedules, follow-up appointments, and communicate instructions clearly to patients.
- Support clinical team members by anticipating needs and facilitating workflow.
- Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards, including TB testing; can undergo TB testing on-site if needed.
- Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- TB clearance
- Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional late shifts and rotating Saturday shifts.
- Willingness to wear scrubs (preferably solid colors), and maintain a professional appearance, including neat hair and no nail polish.
- At least one year of experience or training in a healthcare setting.
- Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR), particularly Allscripts.
