Pay Rate: $30 to $32 per hour (DOE)

Position Overview
A leading manufacturing company in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Machinist II to join its precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating CNC and conventional machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and producing high-quality parts with close tolerances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review and verify dimensions and tolerances on drawings to determine setup and sequence of operations.

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.

Manufacture jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, and tooling used in production processes.

Utilize knowledge of machine design, operation, and maintenance to perform assignments effectively.

Verify finished parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring tools.

Identify and correct minor machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.

Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and documentation related to part production.

Convert verbal concepts or inputs into finished machined components.

Measure parts using height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection instruments.

Perform deburring, painting, and other finishing operations as needed.

Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues.

Package and move parts for additional processing or inspection.

Maintain compliance with company safety and environmental standards.

Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2 years of machine shop experience, including CNC and conventional machining.

Experience with MasterCAM and basic computer skills preferred.

Strong understanding of shop mathematics, blueprints, and measuring tools.

Experience using inspection equipment to verify part specifications and tolerances.

Ability to interpret engineering documentation and manufacturing drawings.

General knowledge of tooling and efficient machining practices.

Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles is a plus.
