Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for directly managing the airborne particle levels of areas within cleanroom manufacturing areas for medical device implants. Working with minimal supervision, you will handle both scheduled and unplanned maintenance, collaborate with contractors, and support critical cleanroom operations to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
Must be familiar with ISO 8 or higher standards within medical device.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee and manage airborne particle levels in medical device cleanroom manufacturing environment
- Conduct routine and emergency maintenance, including painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment such as air compressors, HVAC systems, and other utilities, utilizing drawings, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
- Oversee and coordinate external contractors performing specialized tasks to ensure compliance with standards and project timelines.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance logs, records, and documentation in alignment with ISO, GMP, and internal policies.
- Respond swiftly to facility alarms, excursions, and emergency situations to restore systems to operational standards promptly.
- Support cleanroom environmental controls, including monitoring and adjusting pressure differentials, temperature, humidity, and particle counts.
- Collaborate proactively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to optimize cleanroom operations, execute continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure contamination control standards are upheld.
- Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA standards, EHS programs, and cleanroom contamination procedures such as gowning, sanitization, and cleaning protocols.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support facility needs after hours or during weekends.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related roles, with a proven track record in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor environment preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, building utilities, filtration, and related disciplines.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, fire alarm controls, and building automation/control systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 14644 cleanroom standards and GMP regulations is a plus.
- Proficient in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and detailed maintenance manuals.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, test instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- OSHA safety certification (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, PPE) is advantageous.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of business procedures, safety practices, and technical fundamentals in maintenance disciplines.
- Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, communicate effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and to be on-call as needed to ensure facility operations.
