Irradiation Operator – 1st Shift
Are you mechanically inclined with a keen eye for detail? Join our team as an Irradiation Operator and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our tubing products through precise irradiation processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and monitor irradiation machinery to process tubing products in accordance with detailed shop orders and work instructions.
- Set up and adjust equipment by following specifications, including voltage, speed, and handling parameters, to meet customer and project requirements.
- Accurately record and maintain dosage information, ensuring consistent and correct irradiation levels based on material size and type.
- Conduct thorough visual and mechanical inspections of machine threading and operation to prevent defects.
- Identify and address equipment or material issues promptly, coordinating with the QA department for inspection of marginal or faulty materials.
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing, QA, and internal teams regarding discrepancies, unusual conditions, or defective materials using proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment performance, operational hours, and other relevant data to support quality audits and maintenance schedules.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and utilize all safety safeguards during machine operation, remaining vigilant to prevent accidents or equipment malfunctions.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, promptly reporting any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and interpret shop orders, work instructions, and schedules accurately.
- Basic math skills for measuring dimensions such as inside diameter, wall thickness, and length.
- Mechanical aptitude, with an understanding of machinery operation and troubleshooting.
- Electrical system knowledge is a plus.
- Physical ability to bend, twist, and lift 50–75 pounds as needed.
