Job Title: CNC Horizontal (NHX) - 2nd Shift

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Horizontal Machinist to join our manufacturing team on the 2nd shift. In this critical role, you will operate and set up advanced CNC machining centers to produce precision components that support the assembly of aerospace latch systems. Your expertise will ensure high-quality parts are delivered efficiently and consistently, contributing to the success of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate Linear and Rotary Horizontal CNC machining centers with 3 to 4 axes in a dynamic production environment.
  • Interpret blueprints, dimensional data sheets, and work order packages to produce parts that meet precise specifications.
  • Review daily production schedules (Dispatch List) to prioritize and plan machining operations.
  • Maintain, lubricate, and degrease machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Adjust tooling and offsets using CNC programs during setup to meet exact dimensions and tolerances.
  • Load raw parts at designated stations and perform in-process quality inspections to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections on machined parts, ensuring they meet all blueprint requirements and quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and work under limited supervision, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting, preferably with CNC horizontal machining centers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Programming knowledge of CNC machines is a plus but not required.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a manufacturing setting exposed to noise, dust, heat, sparks, fumes, and grit.
  • Require good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise machine operation.
  • Physical activities include standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands and feet, fine motor skills, and visual acuity are essential for performing duties safely and effectively.
