Job Title: Extrusion Operator – 2nd Shift
Shift Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: Starting at $23.00 per hour, with a $0.50 shift differential, bringing the total to $23.50 per hour (Training on 1st shift provided)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team on the second shift. In this role, you will operate and maintain multiple extrusion lines responsible for producing a variety of tubing, profiles, and shapes. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring smooth machine operation, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor extrusion machinery, including setup, startup, ongoing operation, troubleshooting, and shutdown, following detailed work instructions and procedures.
  • Perform machine cleaning and maintenance between production runs to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Select, load, and verify raw materials based on work orders, ensuring proper handling and quality standards are met before starting production.
  • Configure machine settings and controls according to specifications, adjusting as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic quality inspections of the finished product, documenting results accurately.
  • Label packaged products in accordance with work orders and ensure labels are correctly applied.
  • Monitor process parameters and machine operation continuously, making adjustments as needed to meet production and quality standards.
  • Record all production and quality data accurately, either manually or electronically, to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve any manufacturing issues that arise.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment checks to ensure reliable operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of raw and finished materials, and general housekeeping of the work area.
  • Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as required, to facilitate smooth flow of materials.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret work schedules, work orders, and work instructions.
  • Basic proficiency in operating manufacturing machinery and handling raw materials.
  • Valid experience or ability to operate a forklift or powered material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
  • Basic math skills for measuring quality parameters such as diameter, wall thickness, and length.
  • Comfortable working with a computer at a fundamental level for data entry and documentation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to manufacturing variables and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience (at least 18 months) in plastic extrusion machine setup and operation is highly desirable.
Physical & Position Requirements
  • Ability to wear PPE including safety shoes, glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Capable of standing, sitting, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 75 pounds, including drums, reels, pallets, and carts.
  • Ability to lift, twist, and maneuver materials during the course of production.
