Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will possess strategic insight, a thorough understanding of procurement processes, and proven expertise in vendor management and supply chain efficiencies. This leadership role is pivotal in driving cost savings, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and fostering strong supplier relationships that support our organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Development: Design and implement comprehensive procurement strategies covering the entire acquisition cycle—from initial sourcing proposals to final delivery. Manage both strategic and tactical purchasing activities to align with business goals.
- Sourcing & Cost Optimization: Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including identifying opportunities in low-cost regions to maximize cost savings without compromising quality.
- Demand Forecasting & Supply Planning: Collaborate with supply chain teams to accurately forecast demand, ensuring availability of materials or products when needed to prevent delays.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead negotiation efforts with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners, establishing favorable pricing, terms, and contractual agreements. Cultivate strong, mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
- Supply Chain Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine supply chain and procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and incorporate innovative technology solutions such as tracking and reporting systems.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Regularly assess supplier capabilities, resolve issues promptly, and negotiate improved terms and service levels.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable regulations and legal standards. Identify potential supply chain risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Inventory Optimization: Analyze inventory levels to improve turnover rates, minimize waste, and enhance overall customer service. Develop strategies to manage inventory risks proactively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, negotiations, and supply chain planning.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in ERP software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to negotiate and build lasting relationships.
- Data-driven decision-maker with keen attention to detail.
- Prior leadership experience is highly desirable.
