Job Overview
Marquee Legal is conducting a search on behalf of a dynamic and rapidly growing immigration law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal support role. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes and contributing to the overall efficiency of the firm. This role requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Position Type:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys handling complex immigration litigation matters
- Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents including motions, pleadings, and briefs in federal and immigration courts
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and hearing schedules with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain and organize physical and digital case files in compliance with firm and court standards
- Coordinate with courts, clients, and government agencies regarding filings and case updates
- Assist with billing and time entry as needed
- Support intake, client communication, and case preparation under attorney direction
Skills
- Proficiency in legal drafting and understanding of litigation processes.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with environmental law and workers' compensation law is a plus.
- Experience working in a law office environment is highly desirable.
- Competence in data entry with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a legal secretary, preferably in a litigation setting
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, document formatting, and court filing procedures (federal and/or immigration courts)
- Immigration law experience is preferred but not required – we will train the right litigation-focused candidate
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
