Job Description
A highly respected law firm is seeking an attorney with experience in worker’s compensation defense to join their California litigation team. In this role, you will work with employers and their insurers to provide strategic and aggressive representation specific to each client’s needs. Eligible candidates may be based in San Diego, Orange County, or Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle workers’ compensation cases from inception to conclusion
- Regularly communicate with clients
- Develop case strategize and analyze key facts
- Review complex documents, including medical records
- Draft pleadings and reports
- Represent clients in mediation or other ADR settings, hearings, and appeals
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation defense, including taking depositions/testimony and making appearances before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board
- Experience negotiating and settling cases and liens, preferred
- Experience with the Defense Base Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and California Labor Code 132a, preferred
- California Bar License required
