Job Title: Lead Machine Operator - Finished Goods
Pay $24/hr

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Machine Operator to oversee the production of finished goods within our manufacturing operation. The Lead Machine Operator will coordinate daily machine activities, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and provide technical guidance and leadership to the production team. This role is essential for maintaining efficient operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the delivery of top-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor machine operators to ensure safe and efficient production processes.
  • Enforce all safety protocols and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Maintain high-quality standards by monitoring production quality and implementing process controls.
  • Manage daily production schedules, including coordinating start-up and shutdown procedures, tracking attendance, and assigning tasks.
  • Oversee material movement and inventory levels, ensuring production areas are stocked and organized.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues promptly and collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to resolve technical problems.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and environmental standards.
  • Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and support initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Train new and existing operators on machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards; participate in performance evaluations.
  • Manage consumable supplies, order materials, and ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Operate machinery, forklifts, or other material handling equipment as needed to support production activities.
  • Support team members and production goals by stepping in to assist with operations whenever necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, schedules, and technical instructions clearly.
  • Basic math skills, including measurement and verification of product specifications.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers, such as MS Office (Excel, Word) and data entry tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing production demands and multitask effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must consistently wear appropriate PPE (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection) and follow safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a production lead or supervisor in a machine-based manufacturing environment.
  • Certified forklift operator or experience operating material handling equipment.
