We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant for our client in Vista. This is a contract position starting August 12th and ending on September 14th.
Our client serves FREE daily lunches to their employees, and are needing an extra hand!
- Schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:30am to 4:10pm
- Pay: $24.25/hr
- Environment: Working for manufacturer in employee kitchen and lounge
You will be responsible for assisting in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the Café and lounge for all employees. This includes sanitation of public spaces including picnic areas and common areas used for breaks. Serve food that is delivered from the catering company and ensuring that each shift has food for their lunch break.
- Follows a task list and check list for each day. This is subject to change as events occur.
- Works with guests to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.
- Attends all allergy and foodborne illness training.
- Complies with all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) policies and procedures.
- Complies with all company and government safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Participates in safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Intakes daily food deliveries from the catering company. Ensures that food meets our quality of standards and follows menu for each day.
- Keep the Lounge clean, and regularly checks to make sure coffee, tea, is stocked.
- Reads recipes and/or product directions.
- Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
- Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all rules and procedures.
- Taste tests all products.
- Helps support and host when Company has guests at the warehouse
- Supports other department initiatives and events.
- In the absence of the Kitchen Supervisor, purchases café supplies for other departments using established vending companies.
- Assists as needed at events both on and offsite.
- Other duties as assigned within job scope.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related and recent experience in a kitchen/ food handling environment.
- Must be able to commit to the duration of the assignment (1 month)
- Must have reliable transportation and get to work on time.
- Must have a good attitude, friendly and professional.
