Job Description
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels throughout the organization. Conduct and verify on-going cycle counts daily to meet this goal in accordance with company procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct cycle count activity in all functional areas, raw materials and finished goods areas. Audit counts as needed.
- Research and reconcile variances as well as doing any data entry needed.
- Contribute to the tracking, gathering and reporting of all cycle count accuracy data to management for review and publication.
- Interface and maintain positive working relationships with all personnel from each functional area.
- Maintain all files, spreadsheets and systems pertaining to cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Troubleshoot areas where regular counts cannot be made in a timely manner. Make recommendations to improve the management of inventory.
- Help Maintain rotation of inventory to ensure FIFO picking of lot number sequences by informing responsible parties.
- Cooperate with Finance in the performance of semi-annual audits.
- Cross train in Warehouse functions to be able to assist in regular Warehouse operations as needed once Inventory duties have been completed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Education:
High School Education
Desired Training and Experience Required:
- Prior experience in standard inventory controls and practices
- General mathematical skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow Company quality policy.
- Experience in control of documents and material tracking
- Flexibility with work schedule hours as well as any needed overtime
- PC skills.
- Familiarity with software based cycle count and physical inventory programs.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Multiple location, RF and bar-coding experience helpful
- Warehouse and prior experience in manufacturing facility helpful, but not required
- Good housekeeping and record skills
