Job Description
We are looking to hire an Insurance Clerk to join our team in monitoring, processing, and organizing different insurance claims for our healthcare client. This position is responsible for placing all payments to the correct claim and the correct account, and responsible for ensuring proper balance management.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and prepare insurance reimbursements for manual or electronic posting to appropriate office accounts.
- Contact customers via telephone and email to obtain updated insurance information.
- Verify that sufficient information is available for accurate verification and eligibility.
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts.
- Post some contractual adjustments to patient accounts.
- Transfer copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to patient responsibility.
- Balance payments posted back to the original deposit amounts.
- Organize Refund requests from insurance companies with required documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- One (1) year of Insurance Clerk experience is required.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
