Job Description
As a Registered Nurse, your primary responsibility is to provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with their care plans. You will report directly to the Director of Nursing and may supervise other nursing personnel.
Schedule: 2 Thursdays and Thursday 9:00am-1:00pm - 4 hours / day
Pay: $50-$60/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties as a Registered Nurse include:
- Managing clinical records for each patient receiving nursing care.
- Reporting changes in a patient's condition or deviations from their care plan to the physician.
- Adhering to facility policies and procedures, particularly patient care policies.
- Conducting initial patient evaluations and developing written care plans.
- Regularly reassessing patient conditions and updating care plans as needed.
- Providing nursing services that require advanced skills.
- Initiating preventive nursing procedures when appropriate.
- Preparing clinical and progress notes, coordinating services, and updating other healthcare professionals on changes in a patient's condition.
- Offering guidance and counseling to patients and their families about nursing and related needs.
- Ensuring care is delivered in accordance with professional standards and the state's nurse practice act.
- Leading case conferences and communicating care plans with the healthcare team.
- Assessing the ongoing need for various services and re-evaluating as necessary.
- Educating patients with appropriate teaching materials.
- Participating in performance improvement programs and staff meetings.
- Representing the agency in a professional manner and attending continuing education programs.
- Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited nursing school and a current state-issued RN license.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective time management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- The ability to maintain accurate records and communicate with healthcare providers.
- Proficiency in using computer applications like word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet tools.
- Current certification in CPR, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation with auto insurance.
- IV Infusion experience is required.
Physical Requirements
To perform this role, you must be able to meet the following physical requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and speaking.
- Regular use of hands to operate vehicles and office equipment.
- Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds on occasion.
- Visual capabilities that include close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
