Monday - Friday Position Overview
The Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating drill press equipment to manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders, and quality requirements. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and adherence to safety and quality standards within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
Key Responsibilities

Review work orders and verify completion of prior operations before starting work

Set up and operate drill press equipment to meet part configuration and tolerance requirements

Produce first articles and submit for supervisory approval

Manufacture parts in accordance with drawings, specifications, and work instructions

Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Identify, document, and report non-conformances to supervision

Perform basic preventative maintenance as directed

Maintain accurate timekeeping and job records in computerized systems

Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Support other manufacturing areas and cross-train as needed

Lift parts up to 40 lbs as required
Qualifications
-
3+ years of manufacturing experience; aerospace experience preferred

High school diploma or GED required
-
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions

Proficiency with standard machine shop tools and inspection equipment

Working knowledge of basic math

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English

Ability to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers

Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements

Willingness and ability to work overtime as required
