Deburr/Grinder - 2nd Shift
Are you an experienced manufacturing professional skilled in precision metal finishing? We are seeking a dedicated Deburr/Grinder to join our team on the 2nd shift, contributing to the production of high-quality components for aerospace, medical, and other industrial applications.
Position Overview:
As a Deburr/Grinder, you will be responsible for finishing precision machined metal parts by carefully removing burrs, polishing, grinding, and smoothing edges to meet strict quality standards. You will work independently to ensure parts conform to specifications, maintaining efficiency and craftsmanship in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review work orders to confirm all prior processes are signed off and complete before starting.
- Select appropriate tools and equipment based on work order specifications.
- Deburr, grind, polish, and hand finish metal parts according to detailed specifications and established procedures.
- Inspect finished parts for conformance to drawings, blueprints, and “Build To” requirements, ensuring precision quality.
- Create and submit sample parts for supervisor approval and produce subsequent parts to meet production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Accurately document work activities and job data in the designated computer systems.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any damaged tools, equipment, or safety concerns.
- Follow all safety protocols, report hazards, and use appropriate safety gear at all times.
- Operate various electric and pneumatic hand tools such as grinders, orbital sanders, and finishing tools.
- Perform rework or adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
- Conduct inspections of parts throughout the process to guarantee adherence to specifications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in reading drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Skilled in the use of standard machine shop tools and basic math concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently, maintain a steady work pace, and work overtime as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position operates within a manufacturing facility environment. Candidates must be able to stand continuously and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
- Due to export-controlled aspects of our work, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals under U.S. law, or otherwise eligible for necessary authorizations in compliance with U.S. regulations, including ITAR.
