Job Description
As a Component Engineer, you will play an important role in providing technical support across various aspects of electronic and electro-mechanical components. You will partner with cross functional team to assist with technical inquiries, inspections, component validation, diagnosing and resolving issues, and maintaining thorough documentation.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical electronic and electro-mechanical component support questions
- Assist customers with new parts design-ins based on design specifications.
- Respond to technical component inquiries, and ensure accuracy of orders.
- Technical Support to Quality Control: Inspect and validate electronic and electro-mechanical components. Review and create component inspection procedures. Respond to non-conformances and discrepancies, analyze, and document inspector findings and troubleshoot technical issues related to inspections and quality control.
- Support in-house testing of electronic components for compliance with specifications. Create and review testing procedures. Troubleshoot issues and recommend test modifications as needed.
- Collaborate on data analytics projects as related to components related information
- Select appropriate electronic and electro-mechanical components based on customer requirements
- Contact component manufacturer support for technical documents and component related issues
- Support NCs, RMAs and MRB. Resolution of inspection discrepancies and non-conformances. Support to purchasing for supplier issues. Diagnose technical issues related to customer component use. Provide effective resolutions to end-users issues. Provide FA support.
- Create documentation for end-users, spreadsheets with technical analysis
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Understanding of and experience in a certified environment preferred – including ISO9001, ISO14001, ESD S20.20, and AS6081.
- Experience with electronic assemblies desired and knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Solid understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical component datasheet specifications
- Understanding of Electronics Principles, Schematics, Circuit Design and layouts, etc.
- Ability to analyze complex electronic components, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Familiarity with various tools and electronic component testing instruments usage, particularly related to determining authenticity and quality.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time during the shift.
- Finger, wrist and hand dexterity with repetitive motion
