Job Description


JOB OVERVIEW:
This role involves operating one or more CNC 5-axis grinders, turning lathes, EDM machines, or lasers to produce high-precision small parts and cutting instruments. Responsibilities include machine setup, creating part profiles and shapes, placing specific features, and cutting or sharpening instrument teeth to meet final specifications. Work schedules may include mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends based on business needs.

1st Shift, Pay up to $25/hr BOE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, number of parts, and tooling instructions such as grinding speeds, feed rates, fixtures, and grinding wheels.

  • Set up and operate precision CNC machines to produce parts that meet required dimensions.

  • Inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet specifications.

  • Maintain accurate job routing records and complete necessary sign-offs.

  • Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and replace worn parts on machines in coordination with maintenance staff.

  • Communicate shift-to-shift production status to ensure smooth handoffs.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, free of oil and other residues.

  • Assist with other related production tasks as assigned by management or leads.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with machine setup strongly preferred.

EDUCATION (Preferred):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Certification from a college or technical program in CNC Machine Operation is a plus

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong communication skills; ability to follow and understand standard procedures and work instructions

  • Intermediate CNC machine operation and mechanical skills

  • Solid math and logic skills, including use of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

  • Proficiency with computers and related software

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed in an on-site manufacturing environment with stable environmental conditions but may include elevated noise levels

  • Regular physical activity including sitting or standing for long periods, use of hands, operating machinery, and lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Safety glasses or eye protection must be worn at all times while on the job
