Buyer
• Support company-wide goals for on-time delivery to customer request dates
• Procurement of direct and indirect material in designated areas of responsibility
• Ensure high quality products from suppliers within commodities of responsibility
• Develop and execute strategic commodity plans and procurement process improvements
• Perform high quality transactions to eliminate A/P (Accounts Payable) issues and ensure efficient materials receiving
• Work closely with plants to implement commodity strategies with raw materials suppliers & search for solutions within existing/new partners to improve supply flexibility, supply risks & value like e-commerce solutions
• Deliver Year-over-Year cost savings and lead complex projects, initiatives that have a high value and broad implication to the corporation
• Influence clients, relative to assigned commodity group, to adopt the integration of sourcing guidelines into business requirements
• Serve as subject matter expert to the leadership team for assigned area of specialization
Qualifications for commodity specialist
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, conceptual and planning skills
• Demonstrated strategic account management ability
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (with all levels)
• Build strong working relationships with peers and leaders
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or procurement environment
