Vertical Machinist - 2nd Shift

Job Description
The Vertical Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, producing components to specification that support the assembly of aerospace latches for customer delivery.
Essential Duties (Other duties may be assigned)
- Set up and operate Vertical Milling Machines (3 to 4 axes) in a production environment to produce parts according to specifications outlined in blueprints, dimensional data sheets, and work order packages.
- Review the daily schedule (Dispatch List) to determine job priorities for the day.
- Check, maintain, lubricate, and degrease production machines and equipment.
- Start set-ups and adjust tooling according to CNC programs to meet required specifications.
- Load parts for machining and perform periodic quality checks for conformance to specifications and planning documents.
- Inspect and ensure quality of own parts, verifying they meet correct specifications in accordance with blueprints and dimensional data sheets.
- Work under limited supervision.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
- 3 to 6 years of on-the-job machine shop experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiency in using basic measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
- Programming knowledge preferred but not required.
- Must comply with U.S. export control regulations and be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Work in a factory environment with exposure to dirt, heat, grit, sparks, noise, fumes, and dust.
- Requires close hand-eye coordination and high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, push, pull, use foot controls, perform repetitive hand motions, grasp, and use fine dexterity.
- Occasionally lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds
