Job Description
Mid-sized Engineering Firm is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Electrical Engineering to lead our Electrical Engineering department. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical engineering projects, driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and guiding a team of talented engineers toward the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership and Strategy
- Lead the Electrical Engineering department, setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with the overall vision and mission of the company.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the highest level of technical excellence and project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with other department directors and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical engineering services within multidisciplinary projects.
- Monitor project progress, provide technical guidance, and resolve any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored electrical engineering solutions that exceed their expectations.
- Represent the Electrical Engineering department in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations, ensuring clear communication and client satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, incorporating cutting-edge solutions into our projects.
- Provide expert advice and oversight on complex electrical systems design, power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Management is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Technical Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. Experience with building codes, industry standards, and sustainable design practices.

Project Management:
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale electrical engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Leadership:
Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring, team building, and developing engineering talent.

Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
